Although osteopaths treat many conditions, people think of them as ‘back and neck specialists’ because these areas of the body probably take up more of an osteopath's time that any others.

Osteopathy does not just target symptoms, but identifies and treats the root cause of problems. Utilising detailed case history taking and examination, it looks for both the predisposing and maintaining factors which apply to the patients specific set of circumstances.

Osteopaths have an 'holistic' approach based on the premise that good structural and functional balance is the basis of a fit and healthy body, regardless of age or gender.

We use a wide range of manual techniques to influence the musculo-skeletal system (joints,  muscles, ligaments, nerves and bones) including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, as well as postural, ergonomic and exercise advice. It is this breadth of approach that allows us to focus on your precise needs.

Remember that pain is a warning signal that something is wrong - it's the body's way of alerting you to a problem. It also acts as a brake, to stop you making the problem worse.
